Every girl in her right mind LOVES headbands. It’s the perfect way to disguise a bad hair day, shave some minutes off a late start, or to indulge in a lazy day. I decided to jazz up a black headband that I bought from the local hair supply. I used a hot-glue gun to add some silver beads to the top.
TIP of the PROJECT: Remember that the headband is going to stretch when you put it on your head. Once I tried on my creation, I had to add some extra beads. Either put it on something that is shaped like your head or continuously try it on while decorating to make sure you’re getting the look you want!
Send us your own DIYs of a headband and let us know if you have any questions! Happy Crafting!! <3 Amanda
Stand out as an Icon of Style. Get inspired by the epitome of innovation, sleekness, technology and sportiness. Follow the Mercedes-Benz iconic road map for luxury and celebrate style with this DIY fashion project. Inspired by iconic essentials and unique modern design , we created a j’amazing braided headband using Mercedes-Benz leather and layered in texture, to top it off. After all, it is Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and we want to cruise around in style.
To create, cut a piece of leather approximately 1/2” wide and 2.5-3 ft long. Add a bright cord (or ribbon) and ball chain. Knot all three materials together onto a hair elastic and braid. Once you have a braid long enough to wrap around your head, knot off on the other end of the hair elastic. Be sure to pull tight to make sure it’s secure. Snip the ends and you’re ready to brave a bold braided accessory!
Using this tutorial by Frugal Granola, I made this bag from a too-small T-shirt that I couldn’t bear to part with. I did deviate from the instructions a little bit, and I think I’ll stick to them more closely for the next bag (a too-big T-shirt that I never wear).
Flower Pot Fridge!
The world’s cheapest and easiest refrigerator to make, it uses minimal resources and runs completely without electricity. It’s called a zeer pot, or the pot-in-pot and was rebirthed by Mohammed Bah Abba, who put the laws of thermodynamics to work for mankind.
The zeer pot, is just two simple pots, one pot smaller than the other.
The smaller pot is put inside the bigger pot, and we fill the space between with sand. We wet the sand twice a day and cover the top with a wet towell to keep warm air from entering the interior.Things You’ll Need:
- Two clay (terracotta) pots, one larger than the other
- Sand
- Water
- Cloth to cover the pots
- Clay, cork or other material to plug holes in the pots
Oh mah gawd!
